Patriots veterans are scheduled to report today, and WR Dontrelle Inman has not yet arrived due to personal reasons, a source tells ESPN's Field Yates. Inman is expected to arrive later in the day, according to Yates. The Patriots' first practice is Thursday. After roster locks Julian Edelman and N'Keal Harry, the Patriots have a competition at WR that includes Inman, Phillip Dorsett, Maurice Harris, Braxton Berrios. Damoun Patterson, Ryan Davis, Jakobi Meyers and Gunner Olszewski. Veteran Demaryius Thomas is opening camp on the active/physically unable to perform list.

Where might veteran Lance Kendricks, who agreed to a one-year deal with the Patriots on Wednesday, fit in the tight end corps? He projects on the roster bubble, but if Kendricks performs well in training camp, there is an opening for him with Benjamin Watson set to serve a four-game NFL suspension to open the season. Four-year veteran Matt LaCosse is currently the most likely top option at the position, and the Patriots tapped FB James Develin on 35 percent of the offensive snaps in 2018, which often was the choice over a second tight end. Kendricks' production dipped the last two years in Green Bay, and it will be interesting to see if the Patriots' scheme under Josh McDaniels -- who coached Kendricks with the Rams in 2011 -- brings out the best in him.
