The slam and the steal. Great game
[–]Thunderboldmoney 144 points 8
Such a smart play being aggressive
and going for the steal. You probably want to foul anyway up by 3 so might as
well be extra aggressive.
Crazy amount of awareness for such
a young player.

Pop was talking to White at the end
before the possession where he got the steal, seems like Pop told him to
pressure him high up.

He's composed all of the time.
Fox Sports SW commentator Bill Land
says "White is almost better under pressure."
Derrick White says "What the
hell is pressure?"

I've been dreaming of a timeline
where Kawhi loses in the 1st or 2nd round and the Spurs make the WCF and he

Pop ran so much shit tonight that
he never ran during the regular season. Uh oh them Nuggs are in
[–]Spursloofawah 423 points 8 hours
Can you enlighten me with some of
what was new? I love basketball but can't really pick out plays.
[–]SpursPoonGo0n 91 points 8 hours
That out of bounds play from Rudy
to Jakob was never ran all year. There was some action for Bryn that I've only
seen very rarely this year. The doubling of Jokic we've done before but he
changed up some of the angles and timing, going to have to check one of the
games from March.

I don’t have a video of it , but
there was a play where DeMar and Bertans were having a two man game then DeMar
fades to the baseline , White dives towards the rim , Forbes comes running to
the ball and hits the three
I don’t watch to much Spur games ,
that’s a play I’ve never seen pop run

Honestly, The Hammer is an oldy but
a goodie. Such a beautiful and simple play.

I think Denver wanted OKC or
Clippers don't have superstars and
OKC runs plays which make it seem like they don't have Superstar veterans on
Both of those teams would have been
an easier match up for Denver even though I still believe Denver can win this

We run plays?

Derrick White's steal to ice the
game was clutch af.
[–]Spurskanyeguisada 294 points 8
He's been like that all year for
us. He's gonna be something special, and we got him with a 29th pick.
edit: since this got traction, to
add: if our starting PG DeJounte Murray (expecting his own break-out season)
hadn't sadly been injured for the entire year (torn ACL), Derrick wouldn't have
gotten nearly the minutes he did. He was asked to step up out of the blue into
a big role this year and he delivered all season long and became a starter. And
in his first playoff start obviously delivered once again tonight.

This is the most Spurs thing ever
and it's fantastic.

Be afraid if we ever do actually
miss the playoffs
ThompsonBreaking_Darkness 76 points 8 hours ago
If Spurs ever miss the playoffs, it
means another dynasty's around the corner.

I was so impressed with DeRozan’s
performance in the fourth. He seemed hesitant and was forcing questionable
shots for a lot of the game, but he made several big shots down the stretch and
created several more through his passing and penetration. The Spurs offense
seemed stagnant for most of the second half when the ball wasn’t in his hands.
I hope he continues this trend and repairs the reputation he’s gained for
underperforming in the playoffs.

Lead the team in points, assists
and rebounds. And played good defense. Plus some clutch shots and assists late
in the game.
[–]ThunderDzeSteez 47 points 8
felt like he deflected like 3
crucial balls down the stretch, not used to seeing demar make that kind of
impact on d

people seem to be negative about
his performance but i agree with you, i thought he was fantastic late in the
[–]SpursSpurer 52 points 7 hours
Yeah he scored or assisted on every
Spurs made basket in the last 7 mins of the 4th Q.

Denver’s execution in the final
minute was painful to watch.

If anyone ever wondered how
important playoff experience truly is, they can watch the end of this game.
[–]Spursmadhare09 78 points 8 hours
Are we also pretending bryn and
derrick have a ton of experience though?

They've spent the last 2 years
surrounded by champions and the greatest coaching staff around... Their
experience for their time in the league is going to carry a lot more weight
than your average rookie deal player.
