[Zach Lowe Podcast] "The Sixers could
have got Fultz at 3 anyways Boston was always taking Tatum 1. Boston had to act
like they wanted Fultz to pull the fleecing on Philly"

What if the Lakers take Fultz at 2 instead
of Ball. I think everyone knew who everyone was taking so Magic would obviously
say he is going to take Ball 100% (He's even from LA).
What I heard (of course all this stuff is
speculation) around that time, is that Ainge tried to pull something similar
with LA and pretend like they were going to draft Lonzo to get the Lakers to
The difference was that the Lakers
responded by bringing in Fultz for a workout and acting like "fine we'll
just take him anyways then" to call the bluff.

but I read another report after the fultz
workout about how magic loved fultz and fultz showing off a 48 inch (lol)
vertical jump. Maybe that was another lie by Magic to the media so he could
counter ainge. So basically all this means is Colangelo is a dummy

The funniest thing is that before the Fultz
trade was finalized Fultz flew in for a quick shootaround to make sure the deal
was kosher. It was supposed to be a formality.
He bricked like everything and the sixers
laughed it off.

Yeah I definitely remember that getting
posted on here. People say there weren't any red flags and that its all
hindsight now. But that's just really not accurate.
[–]76ersThe_Jrueth 201 指標 5小時前
No it is pretty accurate. Whatever
happened, happened after Summer League.
He looked fine in Summer League then came
to training camp in his messed up state

The Colangelo duo is quite a step down from
I'd trade agent relations for smart
drafting any day. This is probably Silver's biggest blemish so far, he didn't
need to step in and he didn't need to plant Jerry but he did and now Silver
looks like an idiot for stepping all over Hinkie's plan while half his league
is copying it
[–][DAL] Christian Laettner06finalswererigged 304
When he did it, I thought he was trying to
crack down on teams tanking, but nothing changed (other than lotto odds) and he
hasn’t really done anything else about it...so I’m not really sure why he did
Seems like Jerry needed a job post USA
basketball and Silver helped his buddy out because agents were complaining
about a franchise that wasn't offering contracts over 5mill per year which
hurts the players.
It seemed like a good move at the time but
it's pure stupidity when you look back at it now
[–]Lakersbodhii 125
Silver stepped in and installed Colangelo
because the 76ers started the 2015/16 season 1-30, were dead last in attendance
by an enormous margin despite playing in a large market, and had no plans to
make the team more competitive. What was going on at the time was pretty
outrageous and I don't think Silver looks like an idiot for putting an end to
Remember that the league shares revenue so
the fact that the 76ers were just completely punting on selling tickets for a
few years was hurting the rest of the league.
I think most people know this but Fultz
actually shot way better than Tatum from 3pt in terms of percentage in College,
so I understand what they did..but man did that reverse lol
I thought this was common knowledge. There
were reports that Ainge and the FO[译注4]weren't impressed at all with what they saw
with Fultz when he worked out for them.
Why do GMs still pick up the phone when
Ainge is calling. You know you're getting fleeced
Jordan hung up. When he should have said

Boston offered 4 firsts for the 9th pick
(Charlotte's pick) Jordan turned them down. One of those 1sts was a Brooklyn

I think the Lakers would have taken Fultz
at #2, even with all of the Lonzo BS going on
Yeah. And I can't think of a worse pairing
based on going into the draft than Lonzo/Simmons. Obviously a guy like Mitchell
would have been terrific for them, but nobody knew he would be this good.
Best case scenario for the 76'ers would
have been to trade up and have actually taken Tatum instead. Or traded down if
Tatum wasn't available at 3. Bases on what we knew about each player, Fultz
made the most sense far and away out of anyone in the lottery. Just hasn't
panned out unfortunately.
[–]76ersIsh_but_the_1st_time 69 指標 5小時前
The "ideal version" of Fultz is
exactly what I would still want for this Sixers team—PnR ball handler for a
team that currently hardly runs PnR, guy who can create his own shot when no
one else can, threat with ball in his hands but off-ball threat next to
Unfortunately for Sixers fans, so far Tatum
has checked way more of those boxes (off ball threat, create his own shot) than

It's amazing how many people blindly
believe Ainge's self-serving comments about this.
Why is it that crazy to believe that Boston
liked Tatum better?
It's not crazy. It's entirely possible.
But Ainge saying so after the trade should
[–]Warriors Bandwagonparkertokounmpo 106
He literally could have drafted everyone he
wanted and he just traded down to 3rd on a supposedly 2-man draft. What’s not
He traded down because he thought Tatum
plus the pick was better than Fultz.
The fact that he made the trade does not
mean he thought Tatum--by himself--was better than Fultz.
Brad Stevens told Tatum they were gonna
take him at 1, but then the Philly trade talks happened and they thought they
could get him at 3. You can read about it in one of Tatum's interviews.
