Andre Drummond is playing like the best center in the East
this season. Hasn't had a single game under 12 rebounds. He already has more
assists this season than in his first two seasons. Time to give this man some
due for the transformation.
He's not as much of a liability on the foul line it seems, he's
defending well, and he's averaging 16 rebounds per game. He's also got 29
assists in his last 7 games. He had 30 his entire rookie year.
Hoping this keeps up for

Most Improved player?
His development has been so impressive
431 指標 8小時前
He has a good shot but I don't think his improvement looks as cool on paper as
319 指標 8小時前
improvement is that he's being used more.
[–]PistonsGraemeTaylor 41 指標 8小時前
I disagree, his per 100
and per 36 numbers show that it's not just a rise in volume. Still, love the improvement
we've seen from Andre.

"biggest", not "only". He's currently leading the league in

drastically better efficiency. It's not just higher usage.
143 指標 7小時前
Drummond's efficiency is
also drastically better this season, and it's largely due to a very specific
skill he has clearly improved (in fact, his usage is actually lower this
season). That's all I'm saying. Kristaps is no doubt a contender for MIP too.
[–]Trail BlazersCletus_Starfish 1 指標 1小時前
I could definitely see
Drummond winning it (and if he keeps playing the way he has, I can't say I'd
object), but a lot of the time MIP goes to someone who drastically increases
their box score stats (i.e. Giannis, CJ, Dragic, Butler etc.)

Don't have to put down a
player to make another one look better...
27 指標 7小時前
Who is putting down
Kristaps? I think he's playing better than Drummond

You are undermining his
32 指標 7小時前
maybe you're just
undermining how skilled he was last year
5 指標 7小時前
He was good but not this
good. His improvement in scoring alongside his efficiency was not something
people could have predicted but even the fact that he has managed to do this
while actually improving his defense just proves how much he has improved.
[–]Pistonsjohnazoidberg- 6 指標 2小時前
He's not putting the Lativian Gangbanger down, he's pointing out that he's the
focal point there. His usage has jumped from 24.3 to 36.1 -
the offense is going through him 1 and a half times as often as it did last
season. Andre's usage rate has actually decreased from 22.4
Porzingis is getting the
ball in his hands significantly more often this season - that's just a fact -
but he's making great use of his extra possessions. But Andre is getting the
ball less than he did last year and still managing to score and assist more.
That's a major improvement

positivity :) Drummond taking the next step is something every Piston fan

We need it. He is the
closest thing to a real NBA star we have IMO. Harris have been great aswell
this season though. Putting up All-star numbers so far.

Avery Bradley is a star too
man. It's hard to find players who are the complete package like him

Avery Bradley is a great
player but star is pushing it

Some players have star
impact on the floor any night in any given city but aren't stars in the
conventional sense; he's one of them.

Better free throw
percentage, leading to more confidence with his offensive aggressiveness (no
longer shying away from contact and worrying about getting fouled) and an increased
ability to play in 4th quarters.
His assists are up and
he's passing well out of the post, which is a pleasant addition to his game.
He's noticeably more
engaged defensively, due to either his increased overall confidence (again back
to the whole free throw improvement) and/or his weight loss.
improvements with his already generational rebounding ability and impressive
durability and Drummond is well on his way to eventually becoming a superstar.

It also could be the
nasal surgery he had over the offseason apparently he had trouble breathing
[–]CelticsSquimJim 94 指標 9小時前
he's doing amazing. he's
still wicked young too. didn't realize he was younger than rudy gobert
43 指標 9小時前
Oh wow I didn't realize
that either. He's almost a whole year younger. I definitely thought Gobert was
younger, but apparently he came into the league at 21.
[–]Knicksunderhunter 62 指標 7小時前
He's also like still 24
years old. I fucking HATE that we write off players if they're not world
beaters by 20 years old. People are currently writing off Wiggins as if 1. What
he's doing isn't impressive 2. He's not STILL JUST 22 years old..

I know it's a cliche,
but I think it's just because this sub is so young. People either don't
realize, or forget, that it takes about 4-5 years in the league before the
average, say, all star level player breaks out. Superstars obviously can do it
earlier but even they don't peak until 25-28 (like Cousins right now, Westbrook
and Harden last season and this one)
It takes time. Drummond
is right on schedule.
