"The Warriors outscored their
opponents by 3.1 points per 100 possessions when Durant was playing and Curry
was not; that number jumped to 16.1 points per 100 possessions with Curry on
the court and Durant on the sidelines."Analysis (fivethirtyeight.com)

The reason Curry is the best PG in the
league is because he doesn't mind being the decoy to draw defenses away in
order to make his teammates better. The fact that he's also an elite ball
handler and playmaker makes it almost unfair
Yea, crazy that some see his relatively low
assist numbers (as if 7 assists for a dude that shoots as well and plays off
ball as much as him is something to scoff at) and think he's not as good a
playmaker as other dudes that average 9-10+ assists. But honestly, he is the
epitome of an unselfish playmaker in that he doesn't even need to touch the
ball on any possession to get a wide open look for his teammates. I don't think
any other dude in history has created as many baskets for his team that he
didnt get box score credit for as Curry has. Even when you account for hockey
assists (which nba.com tracks and he has been at the top of the league), that
doesnt take into account how many times a simple cut or screen from him
attracts 2-3 defenders and leaves a teammate wide open for a score. The stats
are clear, with his teammates this season shooting an average of 8.3% worse
without him on the floor, with the next biggest similar impact being LeBron at
less than half of that (3.9%).
Is it the traditional type of playmaking
that we've always expected from a PG? No, but it clearly is just as much, if
not more, effective than the other methods.

Advanced stats will always show his impact.
Just give it a while for some bench players to rotate out of GSW's roster, and
watch their efficiency drop off a cliff without the space and open looks.

Brandon Rush this year is the perfect

Curry's gravity is real. It's obvious how
much he opens the game up for everyone else.
Durant was a deserving FMVP but I think GSW
suffer way more if they lose Curry as opposed to Durant.

One of the best examples of Curry gravity
was in game 1. The Cavs just let KD walk to the basket a few times, because
they were so scared of Curry at the 3 point line. That is crazy.

Curry is our most valuable offensive
player. The cavs have been somewhat good 'curry stoppers' over the past few
years and yet again, this year curry got the most attention in terms of their
defensive gameplan. Kd capitalized on this.

They're curry stoppers because they
literally face guard him starting at half court. It allows the Warriors to play
4-3 for a lot of their possessions.
It's what people on this sub were saying
when the Warriors signed KD, and at the start of the season: Golden State
became a slightly worse regular season team, but a much better playoff team.

Curry has a primeShaq-like effect of
changing how the defenses contort to guard him. The spacing is outrageous for
the other players on the court

Inb4 it's Warriors vs Cavs again next year
and KD get doubled while Curry drops 40 a game.
CurryiChristiaNn 61 指標 21小時前
They'll still keep doubling Curry. If they
double KD, you not only get a 40pt Curry, but you'll also get rest of the guys
in rhythm on offense.

I would love to see this. Curry raining
fire is the most exciting thing to watch for me.

Kd is the goat role player
176 指標 22小時前
in Simmons' recent pod with him he clearly
admits that he wanted to see what it was like to only be guarded by one guy,
basically he was tired of being doubled as the number one guy

It just clicked with me that KD (really any
all-time great) has been getting doubled for probably their entire basketball

…and still scores 30 on the regular.

65% of his field goals in the finals were
assisted while Steph has 70% of his unassisted. Shows who's the real system

Fuck me I'm just gonna say it. Curry is
easily one of the most influential players in all of NBA history. Dude ushered
in an era of basketball that was on its way but no one saw it coming like this.
Yeah we were already "spacing" better and shooting more 3s but not
off-the-dribble pulling up from outta space. The fucking Oracle of Oracle,
prophet of the triple.

I know a lot of people are appreciating the
game now, but I can't wait until 15-20 years from now, looking back at how big
of a moment the past few year have been for the NBA.
